“Nothing succeeds like training for success.”
From 1993 to 1996, John Rau served as Dean of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, which enrolled more than 4,000 students in B.S., M.B.A., Doctoral, and Executive Programs at the time. Under his leadership, the school rose to #7 nationally in the annual ranking of America’s top M.B.A. programs, in large part because Rau created specialty academies in E-commerce, consulting, money management, sports, and entertainment.
While at Kelley, Rau explained how the C-suite works in practice to countless students, sharing best practices for implementing successful workplace cultures. Freshly retired from the CEO role today, Rau’s passion for teaching has never been stronger. He has one goal: To mentor America’s next generation of business leaders.
In retirement, Rau has made it a mission to teach guest modules in executive education programs at the likes of Kelley and other top-tier business schools. From in-person coaching to remote instruction at corporate retreats, the four-time CEO is focused on honing the leadership instincts of current and future leaders—while telling his fair share of war stories.
